These sexy new pictures show French First Lady Carla Bruni modelling lacy lingerie in the days before she became a top 90s model.
The grainy snaps were taken in 1989 for Next’s mail order catologue and have been unearthed to mark the High Street chain’s 21st anniversary.
They also feature other models for whom appearing in Next Directory in the 80s proved a launchpad to supermodel stardom - including Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer.
After these shoots, Carla – now the 41-year-old wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy – went on to hit the big time, reportedly earning 7.5million a year at the height of her fame.
The archive photos have been released as part of a Next campaign to find two hot new stars.
Next month the clothing giant is giving others the chance to follow in the footsteps of Italian Carla with the online Make Me The Next Model contest
It is being run in association with Select Model Management and launched by singer Alesha Dixon and model Paul Sculfor.
