Sunday, August 9, 2009 This may be a site dedicated to modeling (and thus a given understanding that fashion models are generally thin) but there is no denying that Tyra is a respectable figure. She gained weight, yet embraced it. It's not hard to see that Tyra's modeling days is over, and if she misses it she sure isn't showing it.
She was a supermodel back in the day, but not as noted as legends such as Naomi, Elle, Christy, Linda, etc. She could've easily faded into obscurity after her VS days (and let's remember that VS models make more money than any top models in the business, save an occasional one or two high fashion models that make millionS), instead she turned her fame into really an empire.
Yeah ANTM hasn't nearly produced any top models, the Tyra show is like a poor woman's Oprah, yet the general public (at least American) probably knows Tyra's name (and not other slightly more credible supermodels of the past).
