It was a childhood dream of Emma's to become a model and in 1995, she came fourth in the Elite 'Look of the Year' contest. She skipped the usual round of go-sees and castings and immediately commenced work for top magazines such as Italy's 'Donna' magazine and went to Paris to do a fashion story for 'Details' magazine. Emma was the star of Katherine Hamnett's show in her first season.
