Rose Vernier was born in Austria around the turn of the century. She was brought up in Vienna. She established a millinery business in Poland and after a few years moved to London, where she set up her hat shop in 1939.
After World War II, she became a popular London milliner patronized by society figures and by the British royal family. She worked closely with Hardy Amies, Creed, Digby Morton and Mattli, producing designs for their collections.
She retired in 1970 and died in 1975.
