Indian stylist-fashion designer Shilpa Chavan launched Little Shilpa in 2009, as a one-of-a-kind accessories line that owes as much to military regalia as maharaja ornamentation.
Each item of jewellery in Little Shilpa's collection is constructed by hand from military regalia and antique chains and ribbons ensuring that each piece is truly unique and has it's own story. The collection includes necklaces, brooches and epaulettes and can be worn by guys and girls.
Little Shilpa’s handcrafted headpieces and accessories are wearable artworks, which juxtapose the traditional aesthetics of India’s exaggerated adornment with its overnight modernization. Her headpieces and accessory collections incorporate an array of bright coloured found objects and industrial materials such as Perspex into intricate sculptural shapes.
