About

Ilaria Nistri presented her first collection in Paris in 2006. She immediately met with the favour of prestigious department stores and international boutiques.

In 2008 she inaugurated her showroom in Via Carlo Botta, in Milan.

2008 saw her selected by Vogue Italia as an emerging designer and she made it to the finals of the Who is on Next competition organised by this prominent magazine and promoted by Alta Roma. She presented her SS09 collection with the opening show at the AltaModa week in Rome and an installation during the Milan Fashion Week created by Vogue Italia.

The following year she was invited by the ICE (Italian national institute for foreign trade) to take part in the Young Italian Designers in Japan Preview at Spiral Hall in Tokyo. In Italy, Franca Sozzani invited her to participate in the runway-event On Stage, which inaugurated Milano Unica. She was then selected by Vogue Italia for Chaier des Talents 2010.

In the same year, she presented Roque, a project encapsulating and rendering the moods and style from the Ilaria Nistri collection, freshness and immediacy reworked in lightweight interchangeable articles, perfect layers for mixing and matching.

The Look

The Ilaria Nistri universe is a constant search for unnatural equilibrium. The dynamic tension created by a post-modern vision sees rough elements like leather and metal teamed with impalpable ones like silks and sheers, creating unexpected moods.

It taps into imagery that restores a fragile, poetic idea of gothic, where the abstraction of colour does not hinder the appearance of strongly pictorial prints.

This world is home to a conceptual warrior woman who protects and safeguards her own personal fragility.
Intense femininity that interprets cut and deconstruction as a tool for narrating its many faces.
